We are seeking an entry-level Associate DevSecOps Engineer to support development environments and assist with tool deployment, security monitoring, and application installation/configuration. The DevSecOps Engineer Asc will support end-to-end application lifecycle management under guidance. This role focuses on learning and applying secure development practices in a collaborative agile environment.
This role is for a Classified Linux Dev Sec Ops Engineer with a focus on supporting a High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster environment.
The ideal candidate for this position has some experience in agile software development environments, taking ownership of their tasks/stories, and contributing to various products.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with containerization and automation of applications.
* Identify and help resolve technical challenges through software solutions.
* Support developers and engineers in establishing secure workflows and patterns.
* Help ensure security requirements and compliance for container environments and CI/CD pipelines.
* Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
* Assist in automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
* Support the development of best practices for image updates and patch management.
* Assist in implementing compliance scanning tools within the build pipeline.
* Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) efforts using Terraform or similar.
Basic Qualifications
* US DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a US DoD Top Secret clearance.
* CompTIA Security+ or equivalent Certification or ability to obtain one.
* Experience with git and version control systems (Github, GitLab) in a team setting.
* Familiarity with Linux administration and basic hardening concepts.
* Understanding of software development lifecycle and SDLC promotion strategies.
* Strong interest in DevSecOps processes and software supply chain security.
* Ability to learn and apply infrastructure as code fundamentals.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills in an agile team environment.
* Experience with Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Desired Skills
* Experience with Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
* Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and container security.
* Experience designing infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform.
* Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
* Knowledge of secrets management platforms (HashiCorp Vault, SOPS).
* Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware).
* Experience with Helm, FluxCD, ArgoCD for Kubernetes cluster management.
* Experience with monitoring and alerting applications (Prometheus, Grafana, or Elastic).
* Some experience containerizing Node.js and Go based applications.
* Familiarity with GitOps best practices for cluster management.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $67000.00 - $124400.00
