## Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, resourceful, and fast-paced Business Analyst -ideally coming from a startup, boutique consulting firm, or product team with heavy internal stakeholder management experience- to support a high-visibility project attached to a key client in the Construction industry. In this role, you will act as a liaison, moving with careful urgency to gather and document client requirements, support technical specification and analysis, and ensure implementation work directly aligns with both client needs and contractual requirements.
This is a full-time W2 position (can also be contracted through your company if preferred) on a fixed-term engagement currently ending May 2027, with a possibility of converting into a permanent role based on performance and client needs. This role is work-from-home (remote) though must be able to commute to client offices in Virginia as needed (estimated every month).
Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Solutions Delivery: Gather, document, and validate client requirements for the project; translate business needs into clear specifications and analysis products; support the technical delivery team in aligning solutions with client requirements.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders; build trusted relationships and provide clear, proactive communication on status, risks, and outcomes.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues across both workstreams early, escalate appropriately, and drive timely resolution in close coordination with the Program Manager and client stakeholders.
- Quality & Alignment: Ensure accuracy and completeness of all required deliverables against client specifications, maintaining accountability for the overall quality of business analysis outputs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar client-facing requirements engineering role within a boutique consulting firm or product environment with heavy client interaction (construction, infrastructure, or complex technical implementation experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record of gathering, documenting, and translating complex client business needs into structured technical specifications and requirements.
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience acting as a direct point of contact for key client stakeholders and CORs.
- Demonstrated experience working across multi-disciplinary workstreams (e.g., software/solutions implementation and workforce training/enablement).
- Exceptional risk and issue management capabilities with a proactive approach to escalation and resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly bridge business requirements and technical execution.
- Proven ability to move with careful urgency, take proactive initiative, and operate resourcefully in environments with ambiguous requirements.
