IT Systems Analyst Advisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads the analysis and translation of complex business and functional requirements into system requirements and technical specifications across multiple initiatives.
- Leads the creation and review of detailed technical specifications and technical tasks, ensuring development teams have sufficient clarity to implement complex and cross-system solutions.
- Translates highly complex and ambiguous business needs into scalable system requirements and technical specifications.
- Defines processing logic, validations, exception handling, and expected system behavior for enterprise-level or cross-functional use cases.
- Ensures system requirements and technical specifications are complete, high quality, and aligned with delivery needs and enterprise standards. Maintains traceability across business requirements, system design, and delivered solutions across programs.
- Defines, reviews, and provides guidance on system specifications, including data structures, interfaces, integrations, and data transformations.
- Analyzes enterprise-wide system impacts, dependencies, and data flows across platforms
- Defines and documents non-functional system requirements, including security, performance, scalability, resilience, and auditability, in partnership with Architecture and Engineering. Evaluates technical constraints, architectural considerations, and solution trade-offs in partnership with architects and senior technical leaders.
- Advises on and influences solution architecture and design decisions.
- Provides technical guidance to support backlog readiness, ensuring system requirements, dependencies, impacts, and technical considerations are sufficiently defined across teams. Facilitates or leads complex refinement, planning, and design discussions involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Evaluates technical complexity, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across initiatives and provides input to support prioritization and sequencing decisions. Anticipates risks and systemic impacts, proactively driving cross-functional resolution.
- Ensures technical requirements and implementation remain aligned with approved business requirements and product direction. Partners with QA and engineering leadership to ensure testing strategies align with system requirements and enterprise standards.
- Validates delivered functionality against system requirements, technical specifications, expected system behavior, and downstream impacts.
- Leads or consults on defect triage for high-impact or systemic issues.
- Troubleshoots highly complex or cross-domain system, data, and integration issues.
- Provides expert guidance on resolution of enterprise or high-risk issues.
- Produces and governs high-quality documentation standards aligned with enterprise practices.
- Establishes and drives best practices, frameworks, and standards for requirements analysis and system documentation.
- Identifies and leads initiatives to improve processes, system efficiency, scalability, and data quality
- Acts as a subject matter expert and advisor, mentoring analysts and providing thought leadership across teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred

Experience

- Ten (10) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical or system specifications required.
- Experience supporting system integrations, data flows, and application behavior
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments preferred.
- Experience in enterprise or regulated environments preferred

Skills & Knowledge

- Expert-level systems analysis and technical requirements documentation skills
- Strong ability to interpret complex business needs and translate them into scalable, high-quality technical solutions
- Deep experience defining interfaces, APIs, data models, and integrations
- Strong understanding of system architecture, dependencies, and enterprise data flows
- Ability to evaluate complexity, dependencies, risks, and technical trade-offs across initiatives
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and influence outcomes
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across Product, Business, Architecture, Development, QA, and Operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
