Lead a Fast-Paced Shuttle Operation

Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide hands-on leadership for our vehicle shuttle operation. This is a working management position for someone who is comfortable leading employees in the field, solving operational challenges, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and customer service.

The Operations Manager reports directly to the Terminal Manager and will oversee daily activities on 2nd shift . Candidates must be flexible, as hours may change based on customer volume and business needs. Weekend and holiday availability may also be required.

What You'll Do

The Operations Manager will provide direct leadership and operational oversight, including:

Coordinate daily staffing, assignments, and workflow for the shuttle operation

Interview candidates and assist with hiring decisions

Train, coach, and develop new and existing employees

Conduct safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices

Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and quality

Ensure associates understand job instructions, site SOPs, and customer requirements

Address employee and operational issues as they arise

Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT regulations

Ensure company and customer safety policies are consistently followed

Monitor operational performance against productivity and financial expectations

Develop and implement corrective actions when performance goals are not being achieved

Communicate staffing, safety, productivity, and operational concerns to the Terminal Manager

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant operations, logistics, transportation, automotive, or management experience and is comfortable working in an active outdoor environment.

Qualifications include:

Previous leadership or supervisory experience

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to coach employees and hold teams accountable

Valid driver's license

Ability to safely operate automatic and/or manual transmission vehicles

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call periods as required

Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, dust, and noisy conditions

Ability to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 16 feet

Ability to properly wear required PPE
