About this role
SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Modeling and Simulation (Mod/Sim) Analyst to directly support the development of wargaming software. This position will sit in El Paso, Texas.
This position includes up to 10% travel to customer sites within the U.S.
In this role, you will work as part of the software development team, closely integrated with programmers and other technical staff, focusing on testing, documentation, customer interactions, and limited media/marketing support (e.g., videos and demos).The Mod/Sim Analyst will help translate operational and user requirements into test cases, documentation, and simulation configurations. Responsibilities include software testing, scenario and data setup, maintaining software documentation, creating video content to support training and marketing, and providing customer-facing support. Meeting deadlines, following defined software engineering processes, and contributing to quality product control are critical aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and verification of wargaming software as a member of the development team.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on requirements and user stories.
- Execute functional, regression, and integration testing; document, track, and help triage defects.
- Configure and maintain simulation scenarios and data (e.g., forces, orders of battle, parameters) to support development and testing.
- Maintain and update software documentation (user guides, release notes, technical references, configuration documentation).
- Create videos and media content (e.g., product demos, training videos, feature overviews) using tools such as Adobe Premiere or similar software.
- Work with customers and internal stakeholders to elicit requirements, gather feedback, and demonstrate software capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver briefings, how-to materials, and user training related to the wargaming software.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, systems engineers, and other team members to ensure requirements are understood and correctly implemented.
- Support configuration management practices, including coordinating with developers using version control tools (e.g., Git).
Required Education:
- Bachelors and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance and Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Required Skills
- Experience in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) supporting software development or analysis, preferably in military or defense-related contexts.
- Familiarity with wargaming or combat simulation concepts, such as ground maneuver, orders of battle, and basic doctrinal employment of forces.
- Experience performing software testing (functional/regression/integration) and documenting test results and defects
- Ability to develop and manage scenarios and data within a simulation or wargaming software environment.
- Experience maintaining software documentation, including user guides, release notes, and technical or configuration documentation.
- Experience creating videos (e.g., demos, training content, feature highlights) using tools such as Adobe Premiere or similar video-editing software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established software engineering processes and standards.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) for interaction with customers, developers, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a development team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
