Job Coach / Employment Specialist – Part-Time Evening & Overnight

Service Area:  Dumfries & Fredericksburg, Virginia
Pay:  $21.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours:  Approximately 24–29 hours per week
Schedule:  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday — evening/overnight hours
Work Setting:  Community and employer worksite
Travel:  Participant pickup in Dumfries with travel to employer worksite in Fredericksburg
Mileage:  Reimbursement provided for approved work-related travel

RISE Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated  Job Coach / Employment Specialist  to provide one-on-one workplace support to an individual with a disability who is employed in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who prefers evening hours and enjoys teaching, coaching, problem-solving, and helping others become more independent.

No bachelor's degree or previous job-coaching experience is required. Training is provided.

Current Schedule

The participant currently works:

- Tuesday: 9:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
- Thursday: 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
- Friday: 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Applicants must be comfortable with the Tuesday overnight shift ending at approximately  3:00 a.m.

The participant's schedule may vary slightly based on the employer's operational needs. Dependable attendance and reasonable flexibility are essential.

Additional paid hours may include approved travel time, documentation, team communication, training, and other authorized employment-support activities.

Transportation Requirement

This position requires traveling to  Dumfries to pick up the participant and transporting or accompanying the participant to the employer's worksite in Fredericksburg .

Depending on the participant's approved transportation arrangements, Uber, Lyft, or another transportation option may occasionally be used for the return trip. However, applicants must be prepared to transport the participant when assigned.

A  valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, acceptable driving record, and required automobile insurance are required.

What You'll Do

As a Job Coach / Employment Specialist, you will:

- Provide individualized job coaching during the participant's scheduled work shifts.
- Help the participant learn and perform assigned job duties.
- Teach workplace routines, safety procedures, time management, and employer expectations.
- Reinforce appropriate workplace communication and professional behavior.
- Help the participant communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Encourage independence without completing the participant's job duties for them.
- Identify and develop natural workplace supports.
- Monitor progress and gradually adjust support as independence increases.
- Assist with transportation according to the participant's approved service plan.
- Complete accurate progress notes and required electronic documentation.
- Communicate promptly with RISE management regarding schedule changes, transportation issues, safety concerns, incidents, or significant workplace developments.
- Participate in required training, supervision, and service-planning activities.

Qualifications

Required:

- Availability for the listed Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shifts.
- Ability to work until approximately 3:00 a.m. on Tuesdays.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Dumfries and Fredericksburg.
- Ability to transport a participant when required.
- Acceptable driving record and required automobile insurance.
- Strong dependability, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently during evening and overnight hours.
- Ability to complete electronic documentation accurately and on time.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to satisfy applicable background-screening and employment requirements.

A bachelor's degree is not required.

Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. We will also consider relevant experience in teaching, mentoring, coaching, customer service, supervision, human services, behavioral health, direct support, or workforce development.

Experience in any of the following is helpful, but not required:

- Supported Employment or job coaching
- Intellectual/developmental disability services
- Direct support or human services
- Behavioral health
- Vocational rehabilitation or workforce development
- Evening or overnight community-based services
- Medicaid Waiver services
- ADA accommodations and disability employment
- CESP, ACRE, DSP, or similar employment-support credentials
