## Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered psychological care for pediatric patients with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, and childhood mental health, behavioral, and psychological disorders. This position is jointly employed by The University of Kansas Medical Center and The University of Kansas Health System and supports the clinical, educational, research, and service missions of both institutions.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the faculty member actively participates in the education and mentorship of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. The individual also contributes to departmental and divisional academic activities through teaching, scholarly engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement, committee service, and other activities that advance the missions of the department, division, and institution.

Job Duties:

- Provide specialized psychological assessment and treatment services for pediatric patients with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, and childhood mental health, behavioral, and psychological disorders.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and provide behavior therapy using current, evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Provide clinical services in outpatient and, as applicable, inpatient settings.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team diagnostic evaluations and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support comprehensive patient care.
- Collaborate with patients' families and caregivers as part of the assessment and treatment process.
- Contribute to the education, training, and mentorship of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, and graduate-level learners from a variety of disciplines.
- Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, case conferences, teaching rounds, seminars, quality improvement activities, scholarly activities, and other academic activities as assigned.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain expertise in pediatric developmental psychology, psychological assessment, behavioral intervention, and related areas of practice.

Required Qualifications:

Education : PhD in Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or a related discipline.

- This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.  The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Certifications/Licenses: Licensed Psychologist (LP) in Kansas with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB), or eligible for licensure in Kansas.

Work Experience:

- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and providing behavior therapy for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and/or childhood mental health disorders.
- Experience participating in interdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations.
- Experience working with families of children with disabilities.
- Experience with Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) administration and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work Experience :

- Experience with clinical psychology and developmental pediatrics in the outpatient setting.
- Experience providing clinical teaching to graduate-level learners, medical students, pediatric residents, or other health professions learners.
