Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Training Devices Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Training Devices integrated Product Team (IPT). The Training IPT is responsible for developing a comprehensive training solution for the Sentinel weapon system, including training course materials and training devices. This role is based at the Roy Innovation Center in Roy, UT . This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package
What You Will Get To Do :
-Translate user/mission requirements into hardware technical specifications
-Support management of requirements traceability, verification, and validation throughout the product lifecycle
-Establish and maintain vision for technical direction to ensure work priorities and requirements align with clear tasking among the IPT
-Manage a multidisciplinary team consisting of engineers, software developers, administrative support and technicians through design, build, test and delivery of training devices
-Interface with the Air Force customer and NG leaders
-Prepare and deliver formal data packages to include: briefings, status reports, and technical presentations
-Execute program using sound program management practices including task/milestone scheduling, risk/opportunity management and budget control using Earned Value Management (EVM) as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
-Lead development and processing of contracts related processes and document including statements of work, estimates and proposals
-Be responsible for hiring, development, training and retention of talent within the IPT
-Responsible for day to day operation of the IPT including balancing employee workload among simultaneously operating projects and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of related experience, or 6 years with Masters
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Top Secret Clearance, Special Program Access (SAP/PAR)
- Experience on a development program such as ICBM new, modification or development
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Trainer solutions development, requirements and verification, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and budget management as a CAM
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Prior Functional Management Experience to include ability to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports
- Experience leading an engineering team and project
- Experience with Agile principles to include the AGILE/SCRUM Master role
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of combined technical and management experience; 7 years of combined technical and management experience with a STEM master’s degree.
- Experience developing and delivering training devices
- Familiarity with Atlassian applications JIRA and Confluence
- Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or related MBSE tools/principles, DOORS, and DODAF 2.0.
- CAM/EVMS certified, internal corporate or a commercial/institutional organization
Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
