About this role

Description

The Executive Director, Computational Biology Immunology & Respiratory New Therapeutic Concepts (NTC) Discovery serves as the strategic and scientific leader in the Computational Innovation (CI) function, accountable for defining and executing the long-term computational biology vision and strategy for global NTC discovery in the Inflammation Therapeutic Area (TA). In addition, this role shapes and influences computational discovery strategies across cross-therapeutic-area scientific clusters, driving innovation and impact across multiple disease areas.

As a senior leader, the Executive Director is responsible for the delivery, operational excellence, and strategic advancement of the global Inflammation NTC discovery portfolio across Ridgefield and Biberach. This role leads and develops a high-performing computational discovery organization, enabling evidence-based decision making through the generation of integrated in silico evidence packages, improving the probability of success (PoS) of Boehringer's Inflammation TA portfolio though the discovery and validation of NTCs with strong target-to-disease (T2D) link from portfolio entry through Exploratory and Pre-LO phases.

As an externally recognized scientific leader and industry thought leader, the Executive Director builds strategic partnerships, shapes the external innovation landscape, and represents the organization at scientific forums, industry consortia, and key collaborations. Through visionary leadership, scientific excellence, and operational rigor, this individual drives transformational impact on the discovery and development of innovative medicines.
