Your Role:
EMD Serono is hiring a Senior Scientist focused on advancing our lipid nanoparticle (LNP) platform. You will be a part of the Discovery Pharmacology Team focused on validating and applying targeted LNP formulations with cutting-edge in vivo and ex vivo assays. Reporting to the Head of Delivery Pharmacology, you will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo studies to advance lead programs. Extensive rodent in vivo experience and knowledge is required. This is a fully onsite position and will require the majority of time spent in lab and vivarium.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, or other relevant life sciences/engineering field with 2+ years of industry experience
- Extensive hands-on rodent pharmacology experience (tail-vein injections blood collection, tissue dissections, analysis).
- Demonstrated experience designing and managing rodent in vivo studies, including design of experiments, successful execution, and final data presentation.
- Demonstrated independent project leadership working to advance drug development.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication with experience in leading projects across matrixed organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a wide range of rodent in vivo models and ability to write protocols to bring new models in-house.
- Experience establishing new experimental methods and ability to bring in new technologies.
- Experience with ex vivo analyses such as Flow Cytometry, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR.
- Experience testing lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations and nucleic acid therapeutics in vivo.
- Understanding of in vivo CAR biology and immunology.
- Evidence of high impact publications demonstrating the minimum/preferred qualifications.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, results-driven problem solver with demonstrated flexibility and collaborative working style.
