About this role

Quality Assurance Technician

- Conduct daily monitoring and verification activities in stated frequency for the quality of pasteurized and refrigerated Juice and Beverages.

- Daily other tasks: pre-op inspection, Label Verification, Changeover Verification, Process control parameter inspection and verification, sampling of product at different stage of operation (Batch release, First Article, Middle and End samples), monitor refrigerated temperature, review and verify pasteurization chart to release batch tank product.

- Conduct sensory evaluation of product.

- Inspect and verify the equipment cleaning and sanitation using ATP swab and PPA Sanitizer Test, and GMP requirement prior to use of equipment and start of the shift. Verify the presence of PPE, such as hairnets, facemasks, gloves, etc. used for all plant employees and stocking them when applicable.

- Calibrate daily measuring equipment following Facility Calibration Program.

- Receive and sample bulk Tankers (Climb tankers and pull samples), totes, and drums following USDA instruction and Facility SOP.

- Perform Microbiological Test of finished product, shelf-life evaluation and retain sample handling.

- Execute hold and release of non-conforming products and follow hold log daily.

Maintain all monitoring records at the end of shift.

Qualifications

- Demonstrate the ability to rationalize the acceptable condition of GMP and Cleaning expectation.

- Consistently walk and perform job while standing in 8-12hrs shift, Day or Night Shift.

- Demonstrate the ability to interpret basic technical instructions, read and follow SOP, Instruction in fast-paced processing environment and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.

- Ability to use personal computers, lab equipment, and office communication equipment.

- Formal job training in HACCP concepts and FDA regulations would be beneficial.

- Formal quality and sensory analysis training would be helpful.

- One year of food safety/quality assurance experience at an FDA processing plant would be helpful.

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, and lifting to or over 50 lbs.), including climbing ladders and pulling samples from juice tankers.
