JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview

The Senior Distribution Operations Specialist acts as an operational and process lead surrounding fulfillment compliance operations regarding shipping, distribution, IATA & DOT, FMSCA, & CMV regulations. This role acts as our key SME in the defined areas to assist operations.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead daily Fleet Operations, Shipping and Distribution activities across multiple locations.
• Serve as SME for DOT, FMCSA, CMV, Hazardous Materials, and Materials of Trade regulations.
• Interpret and apply 49 CFR requirements and advise leadership regarding transportation compliance risks.
• Lead on-floor responses to internal and external compliance audits, working with Logistics compliance teams.
• Develop, implement, and maintain transportation, fleet, shipping, and compliance SOPs, work instructions, and training programs, ensuring audit ready operations.
• Manages fleet relationships, maintenance compliance, and vehicle lifecycle activities.
• Assists with leading shipping and distribution process improvement initiatives, and ensures operational success.
• Maintain and assists with developing deliver compliance, safety,  systematic and operational training programs.
• Conduct driver qualification, road assessments, competency evaluations, and quarterly compliance training.
• Serve as on-floor escalation point for transportation, distribution, and compliance-related issues.
• Design and implement ServiceNow workflow enhancements, automation projects, reporting, and dashboards.
• Assists cross-functional projects supporting logistics, warehousing, clinical operations, R&D, and business integrations.
• Ensure safe and compliant transport of specimens, materials, equipment, and temperature-sensitive products.

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of transportation, fleet operations, distribution, logistics, or compliance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CMV, Hazardous Materials, and Materials of Trade regulations.
• Experience leading compliance programs, audits, and regulatory initiatives.
• Experience developing SOPs, training programs, and operational workflows.
• Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance programs and transportation safety requirements.
• Advanced experience with ServiceNow reporting, workflow management, and process automation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate commercial vehicles as required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL or previous CMV operating experience.
• Hazardous Materials transportation experience.
• Experience supporting multi-site operations.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience leading enterprise compliance or transportation programs.

The base pay for this position is
$61,300.00 – $122,700.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
