Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description
The Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity of products during the manufacturing process and upon release. This role requires the use of standardized techniques and operating procedures to conduct and analyze tests on sensitive samples. As a crucial member of the Quality Team, the Lab Technician promotes a culture of quality and food safety.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify core values such as integrity, respect, excellence, resourcefulness, and teamwork in daily activities.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and HACCP requirements.
- Successfully complete all required laboratory training.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately and efficiently.
- Record, interpret, and enter test results into specified forms and LIMS software with accuracy and responsibility.
- Perform analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products precisely and timely.
- Identify and report any inconsistencies in data, escalating as necessary.
- Receive, handle, and store samples according to SOP guidelines.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective action while maintaining records.
- Handle, organize, and store chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases as outlined in the Safety Data Sheet.
- Work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Complete verifications of testing, standards, equipment, and instruments to ensure accurate performance.
- Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing.
- Communicate with other departments as necessary via various communication methods.
- Be open to assuming new and additional responsibilities.
- Perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Train colleagues as needed.
- Perform all duties in alignment with environmental, health, and safety policies and objectives.
- Take on QC Specialist and Manager responsibilities when required.
- Maintain samples of tested products to confirm test results.
- Ensure adequate supplies for testing are available and notify the manager when reordering is needed.
- Compare test results with standards to ensure all products meet specifications.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. alternating schedule, with every other weekend off. The work environment involves adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a professional laboratory setting. This is a 6-month contract role with the possibility of continuous extension based on performance and business needs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
