Job Summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Senior HR Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, MI. The Senior HR Operations Specialist delivers high-quality, compliant HR operation service across the employee lifecycle. The role owns defined end-to-end operational processes, manages complex transactions and queries within scope, and provides professional support to employees and managers, escalating higher-risk or non-standard issues where required.

This role works with a team that delivers core HR operational services across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, people data and MI, absence management, and HR systems support through Workday and Service now. The role closely partners with HRIS, HR Business Partners, Talent, L&D, Payroll, and Benefits colleagues to ensure accurate, timely, and customer-focused HR service delivery. The Senior HR Operations Specialist supports employees primarily within the United Kingdom with exposure to additional jurisdictions as required.

Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Reporting

- Escalation point for complex, non-standard, and high-risk HR Operations cases

- Own and oversee end-to-end HR operational processes

- Ops lead for non-standard onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle scenarios (e.g. international hires, TUPE, exceptions)

- Define and maintain HR data standards, controls, and audit frameworks

- Oversee data quality, audit activity, and remediation

- Provide direction on HR systems usage (Workday, ServiceNow)

- Ensure operational controls and compliance procedures are embedded in Ops processes

- Oversee service delivery against SLAs

- Lead HR reporting and MI

- Provide guidance to Specialists and Administrators

- Support data and analytics reporting to aid HR decision-making and strategy.

- Support creation of HR reporting

- Train employees and managers in the effective use of HR systems and tools.

- Lead operational readiness for cyclical HR activities (e.g. merit, bonus, performance reviews)

- Support continuous improvement of HR Ops processes and system utilization.

Payroll & Benefits

- Partner with Payroll and Benefits teams on process, data, and controls

- Act as escalation point for complex payroll issues

- Oversee readiness and integrity of HR data for payroll

- Support payroll governance and audit readiness

HR Policy & Guidance

- Escalation point for employee HR queries, providing accurate guidance and support

- Interpret HR policies from an operational perspective and translate them into workable processes.

- Create and deliver training materials for HR processes and systems.

- Provide day-to-day support to HR Advisors on HR Operational matters.

- Partner with the wider HR team to deliver a consistent approach to HR services.

- Support the review and implementation of HR policies, ensuring alignment with local legal requirements and company values.

Project Work & Collaboration

- Lead HR Operations workstreams within projects

- Drive standardization and continuous improvement

- Partner cross-functionally for aligned delivery

- Contribute to process documentation and knowledge base

- Lead operational readiness for cyclical activities

- Coordinate, support and participate in regulatory and audits and checks (e.g., FCA/SMCR if relevant)

- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

- Continuously look to enhance system utilization, improve user experience, and increase team efficiency.

- Complete ad hoc HR tasks as required.

Leadership & Team Oversight

- Provide day-to-day leadership to HR Operations team members

- Set expectations on quality and delivery

- Support capability development

- Manage relationships with external HR service providers.

- Drive consistency in ways of working

- Act as an escalation point within HR Operations

Requirements

Required Qualifications

- Strong decision-making and judgement

Technical Knowledge

- Strong understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle

- Working knowledge of employment practices and regional considerations

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel capability

- Advanced HRIS experience (Workday, ServiceNow) for transactions, reporting, and process tracking

- Working knowledge of payroll processes and downstream impacts

- Knowledge of data controls and audit requirements

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications

- Significant experience in HR Ops, shared services, or HR admin with exposure to end-to-end processes; 3 – 5 years experience

- Experience managing complex HR operational scenarios

- Experience providing team oversight

- Demonstrated experience handling more complex HR queries and process scenarios

Preferred Qualifications

- Multi-country experience preferred

- ServiceNow experience preferred
