About this role

The Medical Assistant works as a member of an interdisciplinary team in one of MDCs behavioral healthcare programs, providing quality guest/client care by performing a variety of administrative and clinical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner within the scope of their practice.

- As directed, perform tasks and procedures within scope of practice, documenting accurately and completely in the medical record of MDC clients/guests.

- Document client/guest data and interaction in the medical record completely and accurately and file progress notes and reports as directed.

- Take and document accurate vital signs.

- Administer medications, and intravenous injections.

- Collect and prepare specimens for testing, including blood draws.

- Accurately document relevant client/guest symptoms, observations, and procedures.

- Communicate in an attentive and client-centered manner in every interaction.

- Obtain and record client/guest medical history.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program under WAC 246-827-0200 & RCW 18.360.050

- Successfully pass an approved Medical Assistant examination under WAC 246-827-0200 & RCW 18.360.050

- Active Medical Assistant-Certified credential with the WA State DOH.

- Minimum two (2) years’ experience practicing as a Medical Assistant.
