The job:

As our Electrical Panel Technician III , you will fabricate, assemble, and wire complex electrical control panels using engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and production documentation. You will perform panel layouts and enclosure modifications, install and wire components such as PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, HMIs, breakers and interlocks, relays, pilot lights, operators, and other industrial control devices, and complete builds with a high level of quality and attention to detail.

You will use fabrication and assembly tools including drills and taps, jigsaws, band saws, belt sanders, cable cutters, torque wrenches, wire strippers, squares, and tape measures. Level III work may include custom brackets and enclosure modifications, multi-door panels, communications equipment, service entrance equipment, power distribution components, and MCC-related assemblies. You will also review drawings and bills of material for discrepancies, maintain accurate production documentation, and work with Engineering and Production to identify and resolve component, layout, or build issues.

The skills, education, and experience you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

- Strong experience interpreting and following electrical schematics, engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.

- Hands-on experience wiring and installing components such as PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, HMIs, breakers/interlocks, relays, pilot lights, operators, and related industrial control components.

- Experience with common panel fabrication and assembly tools, including drills and taps, jigsaws, band saws, belt sanders, cable cutters, torque wrenches, wire strippers, squares, and tape measures.

- Ability to perform enclosure and panel modifications accurately and safely.

- Strong understanding of electrical panel layout, wiring practices, wire sizing, routing, and termination.

- Working knowledge of UL requirements and electrical panel assembly standards.

- Ability to identify drawing, BOM, component, or space issues and work with Engineering or supervision to resolve them.

- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently on complex panel builds while supporting overall production goals.

Four to six years of experience building, wiring, fabricating, or assembling industrial electrical control panels required.
