Regional Director - Building and Construction - Florida and Puerto Rico
Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is searching for a Regional Director - Building and Construction to join our Building & Construction team in our Florida and Puerto Rico Region. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.
The Regional Director provides the day-to-day leadership, guidance and general management of a multi-site portfolio to ensure that the business has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people strategies in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a constructive, communicative and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.

- Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance for Branches, OUs and Special Projects within an assigned region, and
- aligned with the TQA Customer Promise and core values of the company.
- P&L Management: Responsible for driving the business to achieve and exceed sales revenue and profitability for
- assigned region, including effective expense management.
- People Leadership: Create and motivate a high-performance team; Attract, recruit and retain team members.
- People Development: Mentor and develop staff; set appropriate goals and objectives, and support career
- development.
- Work & Workforce Planning: Ensure that all employees are trained and have the skills and capability for the job,
- as well as they are trained on the proper business processes including health & safety.
- Equipment & Tools: Ensure that employees have the equipment, tools and systems to succeed in their job, and
- that they are trained on the right operating procedures.
- Execution of work: Identify and deploy performance metrics to ensure disciplined performance management.
- Monitor effectiveness of processes through development and reporting of agreed key performance indicators.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the business.
- Client Relationships: Appropriately represent the business with clients and business partners, and act as a lead
- and a role model.
- Collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership on forecasting, financial projections and analyses of existing
- programs and policies.
- Participate in technical trade or association meetings.
- Operational Business Relationships: Serve as a technical resource to management staff and major clients.
- Make business recommendations on capital expenditures and other initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting and resource allocation efforts along with the management team.
- Ensure effective Billing & Collections practices are in place, and that you are driving this function
- Ensure all program initiatives align with the company’s core values and culture.
- Perform other duties as required.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- 8+ years’ experience in an operations leadership role with the Company or the industry
- 3+ years’ experience as a leader
- 3+ years’ experience with client interactions and business development activities
- Require experience working in the service sector, and within a multi-site environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
- MBA preferred
- Advanced organizational leadership skills
- Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills
