Description
The Forklift Operator will ensure the safe and efficient operation of sit-down forklift equipment to move, load, and unload shipments of various sizes while maintaining a fast-paced, team-oriented, and safety-driven environment.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Pick and prepare material for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to load counts.
- Verify load accuracy, inspect for product damage, and report discrepancies as necessary.
- Manually stack 55-pound bags following customer instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all work instructions, safety procedures, and workplace policies.
- Comply with OSHA and SDS standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues immediately.
- Perform LP tank changes as needed, monitoring power sources for equipment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and participate in physical inventory counts.
- Communicate concerns or issues promptly to warehouse leads or management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 55 pounds and working at heights or in small spaces.
Special Position Requirements
- Must be willing to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar industrial environments.
- Experience handling, storing, loading, unloading, and inventory management of petrochemicals, plastic resins, polymers, or bulk materials.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks, containers, railcars, or bulk material shipments
- RF Scanner and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience.
- Knowledge of inventory control, material handling, and warehouse safety practices.
- Experience working in facilities with strict quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards, hazard communication, SDS requirements, and safe material handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced industrial or chemical distribution environments.
