Creative Director, Copy

We’re looking for a Creative Director of Copy with a strong vision, outstanding strategic skills and the ability to compose and drive bold and impactful work. Our ideal candidate will be a conceptual thinker and storyteller that can recognize and shape smart and original solutions that balance creative excellence with business objectives.
This individual will lead and evolve our brand voice and ideation across all consumer touchpoints—partnering closely with design, marketing, merchandising, and digital teams to develop compelling, insightful creative that inspires customers to trade online scrolling for instore strolling.
The Creative Director of Copy applies a maker mentality to translate big ideas into integrated campaigns while mentoring a team of high-potential writers.
Who We Are Looking For: You!
- Creative & Brand Leadership Partner with Creative Director, Design to translate brand platforms and strategies into high-quality marketing campaigns that seamlessly integrate the needs of a fast-paced, rapidly evolving multi-channel business.
- Coordinate brand, business, and customer context to drive conversions via social and digital media, email, site/web copy, video, in-store signage/marketing and store opening marketing materials.
- Alongside external agencies and brand partners, provide TOV vision with elevated brand messaging through authentic and purposeful copy.
- Present creative concepts and rationale clearly and confidently to partners.
- Act as a proactive problem-solver who can clarify creative challenges, identify smart solutions, and help teams deliver strong work.
- Concept Development & Execution Champion simple, entertaining and compelling storytelling that communicates the brand’s unique POV and drives engagement and sales—ensuring all creative is grounded in strong business, product, and customer strategy.
- Develop and refine high-impact, ownable concepts; lead ideation with copywriters and designers and contribute hands-on writing when needed to model and ensure quality and craft.
- Oversee execution in partnership with editors, directors, animators and audio/radio producers.
- Incorporate motion and digital storytelling principles where appropriate to improve engagement and clarity, bringing energy and pacing to digital experiences through thoughtful animation ideation.
- Talent Development Manage a team of copywriters tasked with delivering creative content at a rapid pace for an integrated marketing experience across all channels for both consumers and internal corporate audiences.
- Mentor and develop creative talent while encouraging a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team culture where diverse opinions are encouraged and respected at all levels.
- Keep informed about cultural trends and competitive landscape—inspiring teams to generate conceptual ideas that can be translated into commercialized creative work.
- Collaboration & Operations Collaborate with brand, project management, merchandising, digital marketing, and insights & analytics teams to deliver performance driven customer experiences.
- Liaise with creative, media & PR agencies to fulfill integrated marketing campaigns throughout the year.
- Ensure alignment on overall scope and processes to deliver final creative, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and high-quality standards are met for multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
- Oversee work through all stages of pre-production, production, and post-production, effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications
- 10+ years copy experience with 3+ years of team management experience
- BA in English, Communications, or similar degree or equivalent experience.
- Portfolio (this one is non-negotiable, please make sure to include your portfolio or a link to your portfolio on your resume on in your application!) A strong portfolio showcasing high-concept creative, design systems thinking, and outstanding execution across multiple formats.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver both innovative campaigns and high-volume production work
- Proven talent & strong copy sense
- Proven ability to work in all media with a heavy concentration in digital
- Proven photoshoot experience and talent network
- Deep understanding of both the retail & digital space
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while managing timelines
- Proven ability to understand data/KPI performance and translate creative work
- Extensive understanding of photography, video, illustration, print process, typography, 2D and 3-D design, digital media and associated production
- Experience collaborating with external creative, media and PR agencies
- Experience managing a medium to large creative staff
- A passion for home, design, and trend-driven retail.
- Ability to balance creativity with efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong creative instincts paired with critical thinking.
- A collaborative approach, sound creative judgment, and the confidence to lead while staying open to feedback and new ideas.
This position is hybrid requiring at least two days per week in the Framingham, MA office and is not open to remote.

This position has a starting salary range of USD $117,000.00 to $152,100.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
