## What Is the Opportunity?
Member of the Sourcing and Supplier Management team within Tech & Ops Finance responsible for enterprise-wide sourcing and supplier strategies, governance, performance management, risk and operational processes for Travelers’ global sourcing and supplier relationships.
As a Manager, Sourcing Strategy, Management and Governance, you will play a critical role in executing work order processes across assigned business lines and area-specific strategic sourcing strategies, including sourcing model design, supplier selection, and alignment of suppliers to business needs across our professional services and outsourcing partner portfolio. You will serve as a key point of contact on execution of sourcing strategy, workforce demand, and supplier performance across assigned lines, partnering closely with business stakeholders to track activity, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to improve how the team operates. This position does not manage others.
## What Will You Do?
- Work Order/Vendor Management and Sourcing Strategy: Manage a defined set of supplier work orders or portfolio activities across multiple assigned lines, including intake, modifications, closures, data-driven analysis, and process and tool optimization. Serve as a proactive sourcing advisor to LOB stakeholders, providing counsel on sourcing model selection, supplier performance, and workforce demand planning. Apply enterprise sourcing models and rate card structures to work being requested, advising stakeholders on right model, right supplier, right rate.
- Onboarding and Team Support: Oversee resource onboarding and monitor engaged resources for quality, progress, and team dynamics. Own resource onboarding end-to-end, including understanding the skills required for the work being engaged, validating skill requirements with LOB stakeholders, and driving Technical Assessments. Cultivate ongoing, trusted relationships with the owners of the work, including engagement managers and LOB stakeholders, staying close enough to the business to anticipate needs, flag risks early, and bring forward solutions before issues escalate. Partner with Circle Leads on resource and team alignment needs.
- Proactivity and Risk Management: Monitor assigned vendor performance data and flag early indicators of risk or control gaps, addressing delivery issues as they arise and escalating when appropriate. Analyze work order data, supplier capability changes, and sourcing market conditions to identify business continuity risks, surface insights, and deliver proactive recommendations to leadership. Maintain deep understanding of assigned business lines to anticipate workforce needs, monitor internal demands, and inform sourcing strategy.
- Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain trusted relationships with business stakeholders, finance partners, and assigned supplier contacts to surface risks, resolve delivery concerns and budget variances, and support governance interactions, performance discussions, and sourcing process coordination. Provide data and updates supporting ELT visibility for assigned lines on execution of sourcing strategy, workforce demand, and supplier performance.
- Work Transition and Migration: Own the operational execution of work transitions when sourcing decisions result in a change of supplier, sourcing model, or workforce composition. This includes coordinating the migration of work from internal resources to external suppliers, managing supplier transitions, supporting onboarding of new supplier teams, and ensuring continuity of delivery throughout the transition period. Partner closely with LOB stakeholders, DFRs, and the S&SM Strategy team to sequence and execute transitions in alignment with enterprise sourcing strategy and workforce plans.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including AI-enabled workflow enhancements. Optimize like work across assigned lines, standardizing repeatable processes, eliminating redundancy, and driving consistency across the Sourcing Delivery and Execution team. Champion the use of Travelers’ AI tooling to streamline reporting, automate recurring workflows, and improve the quality and speed of work.
- Rate Card Adherence: Ensure compliance with established enterprise sourcing models and rate card structures. Partner with the S&SM Strategy team to validate that work being requested aligns to the appropriate rate card, role designation, and sourcing model, and assist stakeholders in understanding and adhering to rate card guidelines.
- Track and report on sourcing footprint, role utilization, team composition, and premium role usage across assigned lines.
- Manage sourcing activity across multiple assigned lines or areas. Bring cross-line perspective to sourcing decisions, identify patterns and efficiencies across the portfolio, and ensure consistent application of enterprise sourcing strategy regardless of line-specific variation.
- Monitor work order alignment to budget; proactively flag variances and partner with DFRs to resolve.
- Contribute to the preparation of Business Review materials and Monthly Operating Review (MOR) data for assigned lines, supporting leadership visibility into supplier performance, workforce trends, and sourcing activity across the portfolio.
- Partner cross-functionally with LOB stakeholders, DFRs, and Procurement to support sourcing and contracting activity, ensure alignment on budget and resource plans, and facilitate resolution of issues that span organizational boundaries.
- Engage with and learn Travelers’ AI tooling, applying these capabilities to improve the speed and quality of recurring work such as reporting, data analysis, and workflow management.
