The Salvation Army Indiana, Pa Worship & Service Center is looking for energetic, reliable, and joyful Bell Ringers to join our team this Christmas season. When you stand at the iconic red kettle, you’re not just ringing a bell—you’re ringing in hope, love, and support for families right here in our community.
Responsibilities
The Bell Ringer plays a vital role in supporting our community by raising funds for those in need during the holiday season. This position involves standing outside local businesses, engaging with the public, and encouraging donations through cheerful interaction. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a strong commitment to helping others.
Duties
- Stand at designated locations during scheduled shifts, ringing a bell to attract attention and encourage donations.
- Engage with passersby in a friendly and inviting manner, sharing information about the cause and its impact on the community.
- Maintain a positive demeanor, even during challenging weather conditions or low foot traffic times.
- Ensure the donation kettle is secure and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while on duty to ensure a safe environment for both yourself and the public.
- Assist with set-up and take-down of donation stations as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old or older.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people.
- A friendly and approachable personality that reflects enthusiasm for the cause.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in customer service or volunteer work is preferred but not required.
