HVAC Technician
What this job involves:
As an HVAC Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping our clients' facilities running smoothly and efficiently. You'll operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment across assigned properties, ensuring optimal performance and maximum equipment life expectancy. Your work directly impacts the comfort and safety of building occupants while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and swift repairs. You'll focus on energy-efficient operations, safety compliance, and reducing operational disruptions by anticipating necessary repairs and maintaining detailed records of equipment performance. From roofing systems and lighting to installed fixtures and flooring, you'll handle both interior and exterior property maintenance. We embrace more innovative ways of working, and expect you to demonstrate deep technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, or Material Handling Equipment) while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across other disciplines to successfully complete varied daily and weekly assignments.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems, equipment, and components
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, including kitchen appliances, commercial refrigerators, and plumbing systems
- Conduct building interior and exterior repairs, addressing issues with walls, flooring, roofing systems, lighting, and installed fixtures
- Study and become proficient with various equipment types and proper operational methods, including building automation systems and fire/life safety systems
- Execute assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, documenting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
- Monitor equipment performance to ensure energy-efficient and safe operation while keeping detailed records of operating history and maintenance activities
- Respond to call-in work requests and perform additional duties as needed to support facility operations
Required qualifications:
- Universal CFC recovery certification
- Valid state driver's license with ability to maintain good standing and complete Vehicle Safety Inspections
- Technical expertise in at least one core craft area: Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, or Material Handling Equipment
- Strong knowledge of overall HVAC system design and applications
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and working overhead
- Capability to work from heights, including climbing ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs (ladder weight limit: 300 lbs)
- Willingness to work in adverse environmental conditions including extreme temperatures
- Availability for on-call work and emergency response
Preferred qualifications:
- Multi-skilled capabilities across multiple craft disciplines beyond primary area of expertise
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong customer service skills with ability to interact professionally with clients and building occupants
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other trades
- Experience with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems
