## This is What You’ll Do

· Direct daily Sample Management workflow and supervise operational staff in the supervisor’s absence.

· Coordinate daily task to align with employee shift schedules based on production demands.

· Serve as subject matter expert in SOP development, revisions, and related projects.

· Monitor Laboratory Information System, middleware and pre-analytic automation systems,

troubleshooting issues or escalating concerns.

· Operate the pre/post analytic equipment at an advanced level, including maintenance.

· Oversee specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, re-labeling, and evaluation for

acceptability.

· Collaborate with Supervisor to enhance operations efficiencies, implement strategies to optimize

workflow and customer service.

· Perform routine laboratory assistant tasks including racking samples, dumping samples, managing

biohazard.

· Manage inventory levels including warehouse, refrigerators and freezers for reagents, chemicals,

disposables; oversee storage, release for qualification, and disposal.

· Ensure timely transport and tracking of specimens; handle misrouted shipments and ASN errors.

· Provide onboarding, training, and performance support to Sample Management personnel.

· Participate in deviation investigations and support CAPAs, validations, and compliance documentation.

· Support Anti-D operations by receiving and/or preparing samples, whole blood units, and shipping red

blood cell immunization vials.

· Perform training for lab assistants and act as Designated Trainer as needed.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

## This is What it Takes

· High school diploma or equivalent required. College-level coursework in laboratory science strongly

preferred.

· Two (2) years in clinical laboratory assistant or equivalent experience preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Power BI for communication and data analysis

· Skilled in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and middleware

· Ability to read and interpret SOPs, labels, and safety signage

· Exceptional organizational and time management abilities

· Strong attention to detail and quality focus

· Adaptability to shifting priorities and fast-paced environments

· Demonstrated ability to lead and train staff effectively

· Commitment to OPI’s Values and cGMP compliance

· Ability to operate a forklift

## Physical Requirements

· Position works on-site at the corporate location.

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

· Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.

· Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as necessary.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to focus and concentrate on tasks for extended periods.

· Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable).

· Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -40C for short periods.

· Ability to discern colors, agrees to confirm through color blindness test.

· Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens and various chemicals/odors.

· Wear personal protective clothing (PPE), such as lab coats, gloves, and face shields at all times when

working in production areas.

· Ability to distinguish machine alarms from background noise.

· Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane or vehicle (if applicable).

· Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
