About this role

At Northbay Health, the Supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging, is a licensed, certified, or registered Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (CRT, CRTNM, or ARDMS) with demonstrated expertise and supervisory experience in Diagnostic Imaging. The Supervisor is a member of the Director's Management Team and is responsible for operational activities during normal business hours for the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. The Supervisor works collaboratively with the Director to ensure that high-quality, cost-effective, client-satisfying services are provided within the fiscal guidelines of departmental budgets. Assures compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and quality requirements. Participates in ongoing clinical/technical and supervisory continuing education. Maintains a general understanding of hospital and industry issues.

Primary Job Duties

- Maintains clinical competence in the scope of Diagnostic Imaging for which he/she is licensed, registered, or certified.
- Monitors and ensures that the department meets applicable professional and regulatory standards.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the department quality improvement process and is accountable for assigned quality studies.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements an appropriate staffing plan for Diagnostic Imaging.
- Assists the Director in the development and management of annual personnel, expense, and capital budgets.
- Monitors personnel compliance with competency standards and required training.
- Participates in the interview process and selection of staff.
- Evaluates and documents individual employee performance through the performance appraisal process.
- Counsels staff as appropriate and participates in the disciplinary process with the Director.
- Works within established systems to effectively communicate within and across departments.
- Demonstrates effective department and interdepartmental problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Performs educational needs assessments of staff and develops an annual education program for the department in collaboration with the Director.
- Participates in special projects and interdisciplinary committees as assigned.
- Participates in community activities that support department and organizational goals.
- Ensures organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety, and the Department of Health are met or exceeded.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

- High school graduate preferred, with two years of college preferred.
- Graduate of an approved training program for the imaging discipline in which he/she is licensed, registered, or certified.

Licensure/Certification:

- Possession of a current license, certificate, or registration in one of the disciplines of Diagnostic Imaging (CRT, CRTNM, or ARDMS).
- AHA or equivalent BLS Certification.

Experience:

- Four years in the discipline for which he/she is licensed, registered, or certified.
- One year of supervisory experience.

Skills:

- Ability to perform as a working technologist in the discipline for which he/she is licensed, registered, or certified.
- Interacts with patients, staff, and visitors in a pleasant, cooperative, and courteous manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in interacting with co-workers, the public, patients, and physicians.
