About this role

The Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a faculty position within the Division of Infectious Pediatric Diseases.
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Duke Health Integrated Practice (DHIP) are seeking a full-time Infectious Disease physician at the Assistant Professor rank. This fully clinical position will provide both inpatient and outpatient consultation services. Eligible candidates must hold an MD/DO degree and be board-certified or board-eligible through the American Board of Pediatrics in Infectious Diseases.

Specific clinical responsibilities may be tailored to the candidates interests but will include a combination of:

- Coverage of our general inpatient service alongside a fellow and an APP

- Coverage of our transplant inpatient service alongside an APP

- Coverage of general and transplant outpatient clinics

- The opportunity to work with our antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention teams

Clinical care in the division is currently provided by 12 faculty and 3 APPs. Our faculty hold key leadership positions across the School of Medicine, including the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), the Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI), the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI) and the Duke Center for Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention (DCASIP).

The division also has a strong track record of education and has trained fellows for more than 50 years. We have been honored with the Arena-Palumbo Division Teaching Award, which recognizes our commitment to resident education, for the past three years.
