Feeling ready to spread your wings ? What if your adventure started with us ?!

Whatever your dream job, we might have the internship for you !

Are you a student looking for an internship that will validate your degree and launch your career ? Imagine yourself at the heart of an internationally recognized company, established on every continent, and rich in diverse backgrounds, expertise, and cultures.

Focused on digital and at the forefront of research and innovation , you will have the opportunity to be part of this exciting adventure.

Your mission :
An internship opportunity titled : « ATI Planning Optimization with AI » has just opened at Airbus ATI (located in A90 Colomiers).

You will join Airbus Transport International (ATI) which manages Beluga flight operations .

Your main mission will consist in developing an artificial intelligence tool for automated Beluga flights and cargo planning (transporting aircraft parts to final assembly lines) according to these key points :

- Mid-term scheduling: Generate flight and cargo schedules over a 7-day rolling horizon.
- Short-term disruption management (D Day): Readjust schedules in real time (weather, breakdowns, absences) to minimize delays and the impact on subsequent days.
- Optional module: Integrate basic crew management.
- Annual projection: Forecast/predict annual flight hour volumes based on the production plan.

Expected Deliverable: the AI engine tool to implement (a feasible solution among a large and constrained solution space, within a short timeframe, enabling users to react effectively in case of disruptions), supported by a simple Human-Machine Interface (HMI), necessary to integrate input data (including Skywise), apply business rules, and display key performance indicators (flight hours, On-Time Delivery/OTD, Adherence to Transport Leadtime/ATL, empty flight rate, etc.).

During this internship, you will be then expected to:

- Analyze existing logistics optimization methods (ATI immersion)
- Develop a mathematical model for the Beluga routing problem
- Implement and testing the model on real-world data
- Evaluate performance and proposing improvements
- Participate to business/technical reviews to assess the solution
- Attend regular coordination meetings with ATI/1XRD tutors to provide updates on project progress.

Supervision: The internship supervisor will be from ATI (Business domain) and the internship will be co-supervised by 1XRD (Artificial Intelligence Research department of Airbus SAS, located in M29 Saint-Martin) as technical tutor. Your supervisor/tutor will support you, identify your professional objectives and develop your skills.

This internship will allow you to develop the following soft skills:

- Autonomy
- Proactiveness
- Efficiency

This internship will allow you to develop the following technical skills:

- Mathematical modeling of complex industrial problems
- Collaborative code development

Considering the following methods :

- Exact Operations Research methods (integer linear programming, constraint programming)
- Heuristics and metaheuristics
- Deep learning / hybrid methods

Ideally, this is a 6 months internship and should start in February, 2027 (date subject to flexibility).

Your Boarding Pass:

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+5 ( required level : final year of Engineering School or Master's degree (M2) in Combinatorial Optimization, Operations Research).

You possess the following competences:

- Technical skills :

- Operations research / combinatorial optimization
