What Will You Be Doing?
The Occupational Safety & Environmental Compliance Sr Manager oversees the day-to-day administration and compliance of all Federal, State, and locally mandated industrial safety, health, environmental regulations, injury prevention and reduction efforts, environmental remediation efforts, and abatement of workplace hazards for Frontier Airlines. This Sr Manager leverages subject matter expertise in partnership with each operating division to ensure compliance and works directly with Federal (OSHA, FAA, EPA) and/or state agencies for the resolution of any complaints, citations, or findings.
This role works in a cross-functional manner to ensure appropriate safety standards are established and maintained to provide the highest level of safety and compliance for Frontier Airlines.
Essential Functions
- Manages and administers the Companys Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) compliance programs, Hearing Conservation Program, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) approvals and updates.
- Liaises with Federal and State OSHA agencies, US Center for Disease Control, and local health authorities.
- Manages the injury prevention program to include partnering with various operating divisions and human resources to continuously improve hazards associated with injury trends.
- Provides subject matter expertise between Federal/State OSHA and Environmental agencies and operating divisions, real estate, and legal to ensure proper coordination and response to compliance breakdowns.
- Works with operating divisions, corporate communications, emergency management, and Federal/State/Local health authorities in response to pandemic and epidemic incidents.
- Support operating divisions with leading the Employee Injury Review Boards (EIRBs) to analyze and mitigate injury trends.
- Work with HR to manage, calculate, and monitor employee injury metrics.
- Direct FAA noise and emission modeling for Ops Spec approvals for all new airports and changing aircraft types at existing airports.
- Oversee the Aircraft Safe Drinking Water Program by working with Maintenance to ensure appropriate data is entered into the EPA ARCS database, and provide liaison with the EPA
- Manages the FAA Hazardous Materials Voluntary Disclosure Program
- Ensures OSHA-regulated training content and schedules for safety training are in compliance with Federal/State/Local regulations and Company policies.
- Coordinates and support cross-divisional employee safety and health projects and initiatives.
- Revises and updates Safety Manual sections pertaining to OSHA, environmental, occupational, and industrial safety.
- Assists with investigations of accidents and incidents involving Company personnel, property, or other individuals who are under the supervision or control of the Company.
- Develops and presents findings to individuals and groups at all levels of the company, including executive-level briefings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of proven experience applying, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State OSHA and Environmental regulations
- Bachelors degree required
- Deep understanding of workplace and employee safety regulations, standards, and best practices
- 4+ years of experience in airline or aviation preferred
