Position Summary:

The Director, Specialty Pharmacy, Trade, and Distribution is responsible for leading specialty pharmacy account management, trade operations, and distribution activities supporting FILSPARI. This individual will oversee specialty pharmacy and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships to support timely patient access, high-quality patient services, and reliable product availability.

The Director will serve as the primary business relationship owner for specialty pharmacy accounts, establishing account plans, driving partner performance, and leading operational improvements across the network. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, including partner governance, contract management, inventory and distribution oversight, and resolution of patient access and service issues.

This position will sit on the Filspari Patient Experience Team and collaborate closely with Access & Reimbursement, Patient Support, National Accounts, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial Operations, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Quality to align channel capabilities with business priorities, evolving patient and customer needs, and continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead specialty pharmacy account management, serving as the primary business relationship owner and driving account plans, business reviews, partner accountability, and issue resolution.
- Oversee SP performance and patient access, monitoring service levels and key metrics to improve referral processing, time to therapy, refill continuity, and the patient experience.
- Lead trade and distribution planning, ensuring the network has the capabilities and capacity to support product growth, new indications, and evolving patient and customer needs.
- Manage 3PL and distribution operations, partnering with Supply Chain and Finance to maintain product availability, appropriate inventory, efficient ordering and replenishment, and business continuity.
- Lead channel partner contracting and financial oversight, including service requirements, commercial terms, budgets, invoice validation, and delivery of contracted services.
- Drive data-driven operational improvements, partnering with IT, Analytics, and Commercial Operations to strengthen reporting, data quality, systems, and partner workflows.
- Lead partner onboarding and launch readiness, coordinating integration, training, inventory planning, and operational execution for new partners and channel changes.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution and compliance, working with hub partners, field reimbursement, National Accounts, and internal stakeholders to resolve access barriers and ensure channel activities meet company, contractual, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree required. An equivalent combination of education and applicable experience may be considered.

- A minimum of 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in specialty pharmacy account management, trade and distribution, and patient access

- Demonstrated experience directly managing specialty pharmacy relationships, including account planning, business reviews, performance oversight, and issue resolution.

- Experience with specialty pharmaceutical distribution models, 3PL operations, and channel partner contract management.

- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and translate strategy into effective operational execution.

- Experience supporting specialty products accessed through the pharmacy benefit preferred.

- Rare disease, limited distribution network, and small or midsize biotechnology experience preferred.

- Team leadership experience required with demonstrated success managing teams through change.

- Experience supporting distribution network changes preferred.

- Working knowledge of inventory management, order-to-cash processes, trade policies, and pharmaceutical distribution requirements.

- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a changing environment.

- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and external partners.

- Ability to travel approximately 25%, primarily domestically.

- Ability to perform face-to-face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego, consistent with company requirements. This role is not expected to be 100% remote.

Compensation : Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:
$189,000.00 - $246,000.00
