About Torus
Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world’s first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.
Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.
At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Tier 1 Analyst to join our Torus Overwatch Command team. This role is critical in safeguarding the performance and safety of our energy assets across the country. The Tier 1 Analyst will serve as the first line of defense for system anomalies, emergency events, and performance deviations. You’ll be working as a real-time operator, dispatcher, and triage coordinator for renewable energy and battery storage systems in residential, utility and C&I environments.
Who You Are
You’ll be a good fit if you have solid technical depth and a strong customer mindset. You proactively identify and diagnose issues, not just respond to alerts, and communicate them clearly. You’re detail-oriented, organized, and able to work through complex issues and make decisions without perfect information. This role supports between field service and real-time operations. You’re responsible for analyzing systems and escalating information through the appropriate channels. Quality and safety matter in how you work. You’re comfortable in a fast-moving environment and willing to help build the way we operate as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Real-Time Monitoring: Continuously monitor asset performance, alarms, and telemetry for solar, battery, and hybrid energy systems using SCADA and fleet management platforms.
- Incident Detection & Response: Identify safety and performance anomalies, classify events by severity, and initiate response procedures including dispatch or escalation.
- Coordination & Dispatch: Act as central communicator for field operations, coordinating technician dispatch, scheduling interventions, and updating stakeholders on incident status.
- First-Level Troubleshooting: Execute predefined triage procedures for common faults, perform remote resets or diagnostics, and escalate issues with supporting context when necessary.
- Performance Alerts: Monitor KPIs such as inverter availability, charge/discharge rates, temperature thresholds, and SOC trends; flag underperformance or system drift.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of alarms, incidents, communications, and shift turnovers for auditability and continuous improvement.
- Communication Hub: Interface with internal teams (engineering, field service, customer support) to ensure aligned responses and timely resolution.
- Emergency Protocols: Activate emergency response playbooks in the event of fire risk, grid safety concerns, or battery thermal events—ensuring safety, compliance, and rapid escalation.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of experience in operations/monitoring roles, NOC/SOC environments, or utility/dispatch roles (O&M, SCADA, EMS, etc.)
- Strong technical aptitude; comfortable with interpreting real-time data, alarms, and fault codes
- Calm under pressure, highly organized, and able to follow detailed procedures in live scenarios
- Excellent written and verbal communication; clear, concise reporting and professional coordination
- Must be able to work on a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Experience
- Degree or certification in electrical technology, energy systems, engineering, or a related field
- Experience with SCADA, energy monitoring platforms (e.g., AlsoEnergy, Fluence, Power Factors), or dispatch tools is a plus
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems (PV, BESS, FESS), microgrid operations, or critical infrastructure monitoring
- Experience in emergency response, 911 dispatch, or field coordination roles
- Understanding of NERC, NFPA, or OSHA safety principles related to electrical or energy infrastructure
