The Doctor Coordinator helps to support the doctor(s) during their shifts. In this role, the individual is responsible for assisting the doctor with medical record keeping, scheduling of patient transfers/diagnostics and related communications with clients and referral partners. The Doctor Coordinator may assist the doctor with outpatient receiving and provide minor medical assistance.

What you’ll do:
- Directly supports specific doctor(s)for a given shift; may support different doctors within a department at different times
- Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s)
- Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics
- Delegates team responsibilities as appropriate to team members (rounding cases, planning and managing diagnostic scheduling and information, etc.)
- Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if doctor is unavailable
- Provides departmental client communication for cases (i.e. concerns, care plan discussions, Q&A in absence of doctor, etc.)
- Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s). Creates initial patient history, documents/gathers initial vital statistics and treatment orders, scribes referral letter and discharge/dismissal letter for doctor review.
- Monitors e-mails and voicemails for doctor(s)
- Assists with and ensures completion of outpatient procedures as required by doctor(s) (bandage changes, post-operative radiographs, diagnostic samples, medication administration, etc.)
- May escort outpatient clients to and from exam rooms and prepare/maintain exam rooms
- May act as a mentor or trainer for team members
- May coordinate and delegate prescription refills to team members
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of two years’ experience in client service or hospitality role. Experience in the healthcare and/or veterinary industry is a plus but not required. In addition, this position requires:
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to document medical notes using a computer
- Ability to organize and prioritize work

Compensation:
This position has an initial hiring range of $24.50 to $30.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:
Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
