What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
As Landscape Architecture Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside landscape architects, planners, architects, and engineers to help shape vibrant, connected communities. You’ll apply what you’ve learned in the classroom, strengthen your design and visual communication skills, and explore how buildings, streets, public spaces, and landscapes come together to create places that serve community needs.
You’ll support projects such as downtown revitalization, streetscape improvements, neighborhood planning, and public park design in a collaborative environment that supports your professional growth.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist with developing urban design concepts for streetscapes, public spaces, neighborhoods, mixed-use developments, and parks.
- Prepare sketches, diagrams, maps, presentation graphics, and 3D models to communicate design ideas.
- Research site history, site conditions, land use, zoning, connectivity, and community context to inform design recommendations.
- Participate in site visits to document existing conditions, including pedestrian access, streetscape features, and surrounding development.
- Support the preparation of design plans, reports, and presentation materials for clients and community meetings.
- Assist with community engagement activities and organize feedback to support the planning and design process.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and participate in design discussions and project meetings.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
- Interest in community-centered design, public spaces, walkability, and integration of the built and natural environments.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Strong personal management skills.
- Ability to collaborate, incorporate feedback, and manage assigned tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Lumion or similar design and mapping software is a plus.
