Job Description:

The Regional Media Relations & LR Markets Communications Senior Manager for Intercon is responsible for shaping and protecting the company’s reputation by driving proactive and reactive media engagement across the Intercon region and supporting communications for the LR markets with compelling communications for external and internal audiences. The role partners closely with market communicators, Medical/Clinical/Regulatory/Legal stakeholders, and global communications teams to deliver consistent narratives, strong spokesperson preparation, and effective issues and risk management.

This position will also work collaboratively with the General Manager for the LR Markets and across the LR Markets business to support the executive communications and mitigate communications risks for those markets. This position reports the Senior Director, Intercon Communications and is headquartered in New Jersey requiring some international travel.

Job Responsibilities

Market Communications (LR Markets)

- The role incorporates accountability and responsibility for the direction and successful operational delivery of internal and external communications programs in support of our corporate brand in the LR Markets and in support of our distributor business across the 30+ markets in the LR cluster.

- Aligns strategy to overall objectives of BMS LR Markets, in continuous cooperation with different functions, and in alignment with the GM
- Prepares for stakeholder reactions to corporate, brand and regulatory milestones, and delivers appropriate communications strategies to maximize communications opportunities while mitigating risks.
- Anticipates and handles issues, leading communication efforts to mitigate impact on BMS reputation.
- Provides strategic direction to the people experience communications for BMS LR Markets and ensures the roll out of strategic engagement programs across the market.
- Provides strategic oversight of partner-enabled disease awareness initiatives and ensures alignment to BMS guidelines and ways of working with patient associations.
- Manages day-to-day interactions with external agencies to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet timelines and align with BMS policies.

Issues & Crisis Communications (ICON)

- Monitor and assess emerging issues, public sentiment, and media coverage related to corporate reputation across the Intercon Region; recommends actions and messaging to mitigate risk.
- Partners with regional/market Corporate Affairs and global teams to ensure timely alignment on sensitive issues and response strategies (including investigative or high-profile inquiries).

Regional Media Relations Strategy & Execution (ICON)

- Develops and executes an integrated Intercon media relations strategy (earned media, story angles, executive visibility) aligned with business priorities and enterprise narrative.
- Builds and maintain relationships with priority regional media (business, health, science, trade), in partnership with market Corporate Affairs leads and external agency support where applicable.
- Leads proactive pitching and media planning around priority moments (scientific milestones, leadership visibility, corporate initiatives) and ensure the region is prepared for fast-moving news cycles.

- Manages reactive media inquiries in Intercon, coordinating quickly with relevant SMEs and cross-functional partners. Serves as a connective tissue across functions (Medical, Market Access/Policy, R&D interfaces, Commercialization comms partners, market communicators) to ensure message consistency and operational discipline

- Prepares spokespeople through key messages, Q&As, briefing documents, mock interview preparation, and interview staffing as needed.
- Ensures all media engagement steps follow established governance (including routing, vetting, preparation steps, and recaps/coverage tracking where relevant)

- Ensures communications comply with applicable regulatory, legal, and ethical standards; coordinate reviews and approvals with appropriate stakeholders; and, applies company external engagement policy expectations (including Corporate Affairs involvement in media engagement and required coordination for certain interactions).

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 7-10+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs, brand, commercial, or corporate communications
- Demonstrated business acumen and experience in the life sciences, biotech or pharmaceutical industries.

- Excellent matrix management

- Exceptional collaborative and teaming skills; Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and counterparts at all levels of the company, both within the Corporate Affairs team and across the larger matrix.

- Discretion when handling sensitive matters

- Advanced written, verbal, editing, and interpersonal skills, including hands-on experience developing business leader communications and materials.

- Ability to pivot and excel in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

- Self-directed with proven track record meeting tight deadlines and balancing multiple initiatives with competing priorities.

Compensation Overview:
Princeton - NJ - US: $125,040 - $151,513 


The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, you may be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefit plans – including wellbeing support, retirement and financial protection benefits, and insurance offerings (medical, dental, vision, life and disability).

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.

Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.

Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs. Eligible employees also enjoy an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
