The Industrials Director of Business Development is responsible for the overall growth strategy, bookings performance, and Business Development execution across the Industrials vertical. This role owns the full pipeline—from market strategy through capture execution—and is accountable for achieving annual bookings targets and long-term revenue growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- The Senior Director of Business Development for the Industrials Vertical is a highly collaborative and strategically decisive leader responsible for defining and executing the overall growth strategy across both Manufacturing and Container Solutions. This role owns the full lifecycle of bookings performance—from market shaping and pipeline development through capture execution—directly driving Albers Aerospace’s revenue growth, margin expansion, and long-term market positioning.
- This leader is accountable for establishing and executing a disciplined, scalable Business Development operating model that ensures sustained, year-over-year growth against aggressive bookings targets. The Senior Director leads, mentors, and develops the Industrials BD organization, instilling a culture of accountability, performance, and proactive opportunity creation across all tiers of customers.
- Partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and Executive Leadership, the Senior Director ensures alignment between market demand, internal capabilities, and strategic investment priorities. Externally, this role maintains and expands executive-level relationships across Tier 1, Tier 2, and emerging customers to shape opportunities, strengthen positioning, and drive win outcomes.
- Operating across all Industrials sites while incorporating all Albers Aerospace verticals, the Senior Director serves as the primary architect of customer and market strategy, regularly interfacing with senior leadership to align priorities, allocate resources, and ensure successful capture and execution of high-value opportunities.
- Establish and lead a data-driven market intelligence framework to assess industry trends, total addressable market (TAM), opportunity sizing, competitive positioning, and contract vehicle strategies—ensuring alignment with Albers Aerospace’s long-term vision, growth objectives, and core capabilities.
- Define and prioritize target markets and accounts by overseeing the identification, qualification, and strategic assessment of new and recompete opportunities, ensuring resources are focused on the highest probability and highest value pursuits.
- Own and govern the capture management process across the Industrials portfolio, ensuring disciplined execution through standardized methodologies, clear milestone tracking, and accountability across BD, Operations, Engineering, and Program Management stakeholders.
- Direct and enforce proposal readiness standards, ensuring all pursuits meet bid/no-bid criteria, are properly resourced, and are aligned with win strategies, pricing objectives, and operational feasibility.
- Provide executive oversight of proposal development, ensuring technical, management, and pricing volumes are fully integrated, competitive, and aligned with customer requirements—while driving continuous improvement in proposal quality, efficiency, and win rates.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration between customer engagement, capture strategy, and execution, including oversight of teaming strategies, partner alignment, and competitive positioning.
- Represent Albers Aerospace at the executive level in customer engagements, industry events, and strategic meetings, with travel as required to shape opportunities, strengthen relationships, and drive growth outcomes (estimated 20–40%).
- Set the standard for customer-facing materials and messaging by overseeing the development of executive-level presentations and sales collateral that clearly articulate Albers Aerospace’s differentiated value proposition across Manufacturing and Container Solutions.

Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred (requirement waived with military experience)
- 2-8 years of experience in defense business development or military acquisitions fields with an emphasis in the aviation engineering fields.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- CONUS travel will be required from time to time.
