About this role

Description

The primary responsibility of the Sports Manager is to develop and create sales strategies to achieve sales quotas and key business metrics in support of Arthrex’s sports medicine lines of products. This role will provide support and service for customer groups, including members of large hospital systems/IDNs/GPOs, teaching, city and community hospitals.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Develop and drive product strategy for the sports medicine lines of products for the sales force to ensure revenue targets and compliance with company policy for applicable products; guide the sales teams on tactics to execute the developed strategies
- Partner with internal sales force to build relationships with surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, technologists, key administration and purchasing personnel and uncover opportunities for sales and service of applicable implants/instruments
- Participate in activities necessary to help train surgeons and sales personnel on the technical use of the products (i.e., attend surgeries, plan and execute cadaver labs, conducts sales presentations)
- Identify customer needs and propose creative solutions that align with business objectives and guidelines, including pricing/billing in line with company policies
- Complete all educational courses required by leadership
- Collaborate with Regional/District Managers concerning product dispositioning strategies and feedback from the field
- Work cross functionally with Arthrex corporate, sales operations, regulatory, sales and finance to accomplish objectives
- Serve as the agency’s primary point of contact for sports at labs, industry meetings, and trade shows

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive sales experience and proven success as a Territory Manager
- Successful completion of Arthrex Sports Initial Onsite (IOT) training prior to or within 12 months of start date
- Successful completion of Sports Medicine Intermediate Rep Training (SMIRT) prior to or within 4 months of start date
- Successful completion of ECI Training prior to or within 12 months of start date
- Ability to succeed in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Work Environment

The Sports Manager is a field-based role and will spend a lot of time travelling to meetings, hospitals and practices to support the team and fulfill daily responsibilities. The Sports Manager will be constantly interacting, problem solving, and adapting to the needs of the team, healthcare providers, and the business.

Physical Requirements

- Sitting for Long Periods: Drive time between job sites and meetings can be extensive; due to locations of training, meetings and functions, periodic airline travel required.
- Standing for Long Periods: time in the operating room, labs or product demonstrations require standing so they can observe and engage with medical professionals.
- Lifting & Carrying: Medical devices can range from small tools to heavy equipment, requiring Sports Managers to transport and set up displays or training materials (up to 50 lbs.)
- Walking Between Locations: In large hospitals or medical facilities, Sports Managers may need to walk extensively to visit different departments.
- Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills: Setting up and demonstrating equipment may require precise handling and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
