Head of Operations and Technical Services, Sioux City

The Head of Operations and Technical Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, and financial results of the Machine / Repair Shop, Alignment / Grinding, and Specialized Services functions while partnering cross-functionally with project management, sales, etc. to achieve delivery targets, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role will be reporting to the Head of Field Services, North America.

The Head of Operations serves as FLS’s leader and is responsible for delivering high-quality field service, while maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Leadership & Team Management: Skilled in leading multicultural teams, provide overall leadership coaching, and direction for machine shop, repair, alignment, grinding, and specialized service operations
- Safety & Compliance, strong understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations
- Collaborate with Engineering, manufacturing, and Project Management team to prioritize resource assignments based on project timelines and scope.
- Manage support team resources at South Sioux City facility to ensure cost effective operation and direct technical process improvements as budgeted.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, external vendors and contractors as needed.
- Exhibit ability to interact and cooperate with personnel/customers effectively and with desirable personal character, commitment, professionalism, organizational skills, work habits and teaching skills
- Develop and execute a people strategy centered around engagement, efficiency, development, and retention
- Identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and training initiatives to enhance field service capabilities.
- Achieving region financial targets by maintaining/growing as-sold margins, contributing to accounts receivable initiatives, and seeking cost efficiencies
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of industry trends, internal strategy, and performance levels

What you bring

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or 10 Years of experience in the mining/processing equipment of hands-on repair, field diagnostics or technical services support
- Familiarity with industry standards
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations
- Proven ability to drive cost, process, and inventory efficiencies
- Significant leadership experience with success in developing people
- Exceptional leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead multicultural teams and manage stakeholders
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities under pressure
