About this role

SUMMARY :

Training Specialist is a professional who will promote excellence and innovation in the delivery of education and assessment of competencies of the staff throughout the organization. The Training Specialist will act as a role model for training and development-based best practices .

Primary Responsibilitie s

1.    Responsible for maintaining Clinic and State continuing education requirements.

2.    Provides education to new and established staff.  Collaborate with Nursing Administration to develop a comprehensive education program for new employee orientation.

3.    Develop and support preceptor program.

4. Ensures annual competency validations for all nursing staff are completed.

5. Ensues annual compliance validations for all staff are completed.

6.    Continually reviews and updates training materials.

7.    Assesses the needs for education for the organization on an ongoing basis.

8.    Responsible for maintaining Learning Management System (Traincaster) and EMR (EPIC) system onboarding training platform.

9.    Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring EMR (EPIC) platform training.

10.  Reviews best practices and assists in the development and implemention of Clinic policies and standard operating procedures.

11.  Provides mentorship and guidance to employees.

12.  Demonstrates leadership qualities including: effective communication, innovation, problem solving, confidence, commitment, creativity, and time management.

13.  Upholds Clinic values, mission, and reputation.

14.  Demonstrates objectivity, in assessing individual and organizational needs. Develops strategies to identify and meet the training needs of the Clinic employees.

15.  Applies critical judgement in facilitating a culture of quality, professional, and effective training and learning environment.

16.  Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to support organizational and patient outcomes.

17.  Contributes to and assists in times of organizational change.

18.  Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience Equivalent to:

- 2+ years training experience in a medical or outpatient clinic setting;

- Graduate of an approved school of vocational nursing and holds an unrestricted license to practice in the State of Texas.

- Experience with Learning Management Systems and EMR (Epic) preferred.

Skills and Abilities

- Must demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills;

- Uses analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving; and

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

- Able to stand at least 75% of the time;

- Able to sit, walk, carry 50 lbs., push, pull, reach, handle, bend, kneel, crouch;

- Has manual and finger dexterity;

- Able to speak and hear;

- Has near visual acuity;

- Able to speak English fluently;

- Has color vision and depth perception; and

- Has full range of motion in back.
