Job Summary
Registered Staff Nurse for the Center of Perioperative Care

We currently have an exciting opportunity for RNs to work in our Center for Perioperative Care!
40 hours per week (4–10-hour shifts). Day/eve rotation)
No weekend commitments are required. The primary office hours are 5:30am-9:30pm.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years RN experience that includes
a minimum of 1 year Acute Surgical Care experience. - Recent Surgery, Med Surg, PACU, and Intensive Care experience, preferred.

The expert team at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Center for Perioperative Care provides every patient with all the necessary information to ensure stress-free and comfortable care experience. The RNs deliver care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients who are 16 years and older. - Prepares patients for surgery/procedures and provides Phase I and II recovery care. - Nurses rotate through the Pre-Procedure Evaluation (PPE) Program assessing pre-surgical and procedural patients whose ages range from pediatric to geriatric. -

Our dynamic RN team assesses all age groups, including pediatrics, by our PPE Phone Program. Mass General Hospital's Department of Surgery provides over 20,000 surgeries a year. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
