In this role, you’ll be a member of the Support Services team, proving a vital role in department operations. The Administration Division is managed by a Deputy Director who leads, directs and controls the agency’s financial, administrative and support operations.
Support Services (along with the Business Operations team) is responsible for the administrative functions of the agency, efficiently and effectively providing varied clerical support to all agency programs. This includes data entry, preparation of various documents, various record processing, records maintenance, responding to inquiries, filing, mail services, and front desk reception.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide front desk reception for the agency as well as a variety of clerical support for various program areas. This position is the initial point of contact for the agency.
This permanent position is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

What you will be doing:
As our Customer Services Specialist , you will have the opportunity to:
- Answer multiple phones
- Greet and assist walk‑in customers
- Process payments
- Schedule conference rooms
- Route mail for all building tenants
- Maintain agency phone lists, coordinate inter‑agency mail
- Sort, open, date‑stamp, and route incoming mail
- Order and manage office supplies
- Prepare documents for scanning
Working Conditions
This is a non-Hybrid position requiring in office work 5 days a week. The role involves regular computer use, including viewing a monitor and sitting for extended periods of time to complete daily tasks. The position may operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing demands and requires the ability to manage several tasks at once, sometimes under the pressure of high-priority deadlines. The employee may experience occasional exposure to hostile or upset individuals while performing customer service or program support duties.
The role requires lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds, such as office files, boxes, or program materials, as part of routine work activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience.
