Major Responsibilities

Machine Operator – Operations I

- Proficiently operate and maintain basic machinery independently at a defined rate with proper quality
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the products assembled and how they impact the business.
- Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of the job as changes require.
- Safely handle materials utilizing proper lifting techniques, including overhead hoists/lift tables.
- Understand machine guarding and safe operation of machinery.
- Communicate hazards and/or equipment issues with leadership.
- May occasionally provide basic training to employees as needed
- Cross train in different areas within the department and flex to different stations as needed

Machine Operator – Operations II

- All Machine Operator I responsibilities
- Operate and maintain complex machinery independently (minimum of 50% stations) at defined rate with proper quality.
- Frequently provide training to employees on work instructions/standard work.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

- High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Work Experience

- 2-3 years of experience operating relevant machinery or equivalent

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Machine Operator – Operations I

- Ability to pass the basic assessment test
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Work in a team environment in a professional manner
- Effectively communicate
- Utilize applicable hand tools with precision.

Machine Operator – Operations II

- Ability to pass the basic assessment test
- Knowledge and understanding of intermediate machinery
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret basic blueprints

Preferred Job Requirements

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

- Ability to read blueprints/Diagrams, tape measure by millimeters and inches, dial caliper, and any other measuring instruments as needed and complete Measurement Quality Check sheet.
- Ability to understand and execute basic standard machining procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools.
