About this role
We are currently looking for a Virt Software Developer Intern interested in Storage Virtualization to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. You have the opportunity to join the RHEL Virtualization team.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, part-time internship based in the Brno office, with flexible working hours. The expected start date is February 2027.
What you will do:
- Work closely with your mentor to work on automatization of various tasks in the product pipeline specific to RHEL Virtualization stack with focus on storage technologies.
- Work within a distributed team on various virtualization storage new features, specifically in the QEMU project and or libvirt project.
- Work with upstream communities around QEMU and Libvirt projects
- Work with other stakeholders within the agile scrum team, such as product owner.
- Work on CI systems. Implement new tests for automated testing.
- Learn a lot.
What you will bring:
- You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
- University level knowledge of C and Python programming languages.
- Working knowledge of written and spoken English
- Passion, curiosity, and desire to create new things and examine how things work internally
- Willingness to learn new things and proactivity working as a part of a wider team
