Main responsibilities:

• Commitment to providing and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Lead, coach, and supervise transportation personnel to achieve specific goals and measurable results.
• Work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including weekends, holidays, nights, and varied shifts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operating practices.
• Train and develop dispatchers and drivers, while identifying and mentoring high-potential employees.
• Foster effective collaboration between transportation, distribution center, retail, and other departments.
• Maintain positive employee and associate relations.
• Deliver superior customer service standards.
• Determine equipment and manpower requirements to meet daily operational needs.
• Maintain transportation assets in a cost-effective, as-designed condition.
• Implement and monitor initiatives to reduce operational costs.
• Supervise and dispatch drivers to support efficient operations.
• Promote safe and courteous driving practices through coaching, meetings, and development workshops.
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency within transportation operations.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, Sanitation, and Food Safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate and complete transportation and personnel documentation.
• Adapt to changing business needs and operational priorities as required.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or 5+ years of supervisory experience in the trucking industry as an equivalent.
• 3 plus years of progressive experience in trucking operations; grocery retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety requirements.
• Strong technical skills with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet routing optimization software (Prospero, One Network, and CAMS preferred).
• Experience with fleet onboard computer systems (XATA preferred).
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and integrating with TMS platforms.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and willing to learn new programs, systems, and procedures.
• Ability to make quick, effective, and cost-conscious decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with the ability to take decisive action.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven leadership experience, including 3+ years managing teams of 30+ direct reports.
• Ability to forecast, plan, manage, measure, and optimize daily operations.
• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple levels of personnel across the distribution center and organization.
• Demonstrates initiative, innovation, resourcefulness, and a strong customer service focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
