Labcorp is seeking a Logistics Director to join our team in Raleigh, NC
Job Summary
The Logistics Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Atlantic Division's distribution, logistics, and warehousing infrastructure, translating the division's strategic and operating plans into efficient, compliant, and customer-focused day-to-day execution. The role develops and executes long-term logistics strategies that support growth, service excellence, operational efficiency and enterprise supply chain objectives while ensuring compliant and customer-focused execution. Owns the design and delivery of a centralized logistics dispatching model for customers requiring STAT and will-call specimen pickup, and drives operational excellence, margin improvement, and service quality across the specimen supply chain. Partnering across laboratory operations, patient services, and division leadership, the Director builds a high-performing team and a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
Job Responsibilities
· Divisional leadership: Lead the Atlantic division-wide distribution, logistics, and warehousing infrastructure, and execute the division's strategic and current-year business plans and budgets.
· Centralized dispatch: Develop and execute a plan for divisional centralized logistics dispatching to serve customers needing STAT and will-call specimen pickup, ensuring timely, reliable transport of patient specimens.
· Strategy & process design: Create and drive strategies for a highly functioning, efficient distribution/logistics/warehousing network; build and improve processes that deliver operational efficiency, drive margin improvement, and advance objectives set by senior leadership.
· Route & network optimization: Continuously review, optimize, and standardize courier routes, pickup service, new-account setup, and dispatch procedures, eliminating non-value-added activity.
· Performance analytics: Use Power BI to drive KPIs, performance metrics, and analytics; sustain and enhance existing dashboards to monitor performance and achieve divisional excellence across logistics and supply chain.
· Financial ownership: Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; partner with Finance on the logistics P&L to drive profitable growth, cost excellence, and accurate forecasting.
· Policies & procedures: Develop policies, SOPs, and procedures that support the operational infrastructure and ensure compliance with Labcorp standards.
· Operational excellence: Lead day-to-day operations to advance strategy, culture, talent development, and process excellence with an emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and quality.
· Safety & compliance: Establish, follow, and enforce safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment, regulatory requirements, and applicable transportation and healthcare regulations.
· Vendor & 3PL management: Manage relationships and contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers to meet service-level agreements and optimize cost and performance.
· Technology enablement: Support the selection and use of logistics technologies (e.g., routing/dispatch, transportation and warehouse management systems) to improve operational visibility.
· Innovation & benchmarking: Bring in new ideas and best practices from other industries that excel in distribution, logistics, and warehousing to enhance service and margin.
· Talent development: Build a strong leadership pipeline; mentor, develop, and set performance objectives for the logistics team, fostering a culture of coaching, trust, and continuous improvement.
· Mergers & acquisitions: Support M&A projects with oversight of logistics integration into Labcorp, including due-diligence analysis of the selling party's logistics infrastructure, route network, and logistics personnel; plan and execute the transition of acquired operations to ensure seamless, low-disruption integration into the division's distribution, dispatch, and warehousing model.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree with a focus in operational excellence, distribution, logistics, warehousing, business
· 10 years or more of logistics/supply chain and leadership experience.
· Previous experience running logistics and warehouse operations, including developing and delivering annual operating budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CLTD, PMP).
· Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
· 1 year or more healthcare, clinical laboratory, or diagnostics logistics experience, including specimen transport.

· Demonstrated experience leading in a matrixed organization.
· Ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and make informed recommendations; proficiency with Power BI and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Technical knowledge of the laboratory environment and pre-, peri-, and post-analytical process flows.
· Strong understanding of budgeting, modeling, resource allocation, and P&L management.
· Effective verbal and written communication for diverse audiences and key stakeholders.
· Ensures processes support internal and external customer needs for short- and long-term success.
· Strong teamwork orientation with the ability to interact effectively across multiple disciplines and functions.
· Proactively identifies problems and drives timely, preventive solutions in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions
· Hybrid role based in the Atlantic Division
· Up to approximately 50% travel within the division for leadership visibility, route reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
· May work across time zones and include occasional on-call responsibility as required.
· Predominantly sedentary; depending on site support, may include periods of standing in warehouse/logistics environments.
