Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Lead to supervise the Analytical Chemistry Lab within Boise Corporate Labs at our Technology Development and manufacturing site. The lab uses advanced instrumentation and analytical techniques to deliver chemistry and materials analysis for engineering, manufacturing, and Facilities customers. In this role, you will lead the team and set technical direction so the lab runs safely, accurately, on time, and within budget. You will also advance next-generation metrology, automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and develop the lab team. Set clear objectives, manage performance, plan for succession, and build an inclusive, engaged culture.
- Promote a safety-first culture aligned with the Chemical Hygiene Plan, cleanroom, security, and quality requirements.
- Staff and run the lab so it delivers accurate, timely results, covering instrument maintenance, method development, data review, and LIMS records.
- Own metrology strategy, acquisition, and lifecycle planning for analytical technologies that support current and next-generation materials and devices.
- Drive operational excellence through automation, workflow optimization, cycle-time improvement, and budget management.
- Lead the integration of AI and agentic workflows to improve productivity, data analysis, and decision support, with strong attention to data quality, security, and human oversight.
- Serve as the main customer contact for complex analyses. Partner with Technology Development, manufacturing, Facilities, Global Labs, HVM sites, universities, and vendors, and provide clear, executive-ready updates.

Basic Qualifications

- BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
- Proven people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
- Experience in analytical chemistry and semiconductor-relevant lab operations.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, IC, HPLC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, and molecular spectroscopy (FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, Raman).
- Strong project management, prioritization, and budget skills, plus a record of justifying and implementing technology improvements.
- Proficiency with AI tools and LLMs, LIMS, data systems integration, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, including turning complex data into clear technical or executive summaries.
- Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals and lead in lab and cleanroom settings.

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Background in statistics, data science, or advanced data acquisition and reduction software.
- Experience with lab automation and agentic workflow solutions.
- Experience supporting semiconductor Technology Development or high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience partnering with universities, suppliers, and global technical organizations.
