Description

Are you a skilled communicator who thrives on shaping narratives and building meaningful relationships with media professionals? We are seeking a high judgment, detail-oriented, creative, and results-driven communications professional for the Financial Communications team. In this role, you'll support internal and external communications activities related to Amazon’s Financial Communications as well as for the Finance and Global Business Services organization. This role will help shape Amazon’s financial narrative to external and internal stakeholders, and will work cross functionally across Communications, Investor Relations, Legal, Finance and Global Business Services, and other business areas.

Key job responsibilities
- Proactive and reactive external storytelling that transforms complex financial and technical concepts into engaging stories and ensures accurate and fair reporting.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to surface and tell authentic stories from within.
- Create employee communications that inspire and inform our global workforce.
- Support the quarterly earnings process.
- Co-produce and project manage global, organization-wide communications events, such as org-wide meetings and Amazon’s Annual Shareholder Meeting.
- Support VP-level external events and media engagement activities.
- Manage ad-hoc projects and communications as needed.

The ideal candidate thinks strategically, takes initiative, and has a proven track record of developing high-impact narratives across owned, earned, and internal channels. Strong editorial judgment and ability to identify newsworthy angles are essential, as is experience adapting content for different audiences. Success in this role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment, embracing ambiguity, and maintaining composure while juggling multiple priorities. You should be confident asking questions, quick to grasp complex issues, and skilled at developing thoughtful messaging strategies under deadline.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing overnight media coverage and flagging emerging themes for your team. From there, you could shift into drafting messaging for an upcoming announcement, or internal storytelling. After lunch, you join a working session to plan an org-wide event. Throughout it all, you are balancing multiple programs, keeping timelines on track, and ensuring every piece of content meets a high standard of clarity and accuracy.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in media relations and issues management

Preferred Qualifications

- Business and financial acumen: Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and translate financial statements & complex business strategies into clear, audience-appropriate messages.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a track record of crafting compelling narratives for diverse audiences (media, employees, investors).
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to earn trust: Proven experience successfully collaborating with & influencing cross-functional teams.
- Project management expertise: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- High judgment and integrity: Capacity to operate with discretion, manage sensitive information, & make sound, timely decisions in complex situations.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
