About this role

Job Purpose

The Officer, Knowledge Management Technology is responsible for serving as the bridge between Knowledge Management strategy and the enabling technology platform within Subsurface Knowledge Management Section (GIS/K). The role translates KM governance, lifecycle, classification, and user requirements into practical platform features, metadata structures, workflows, and digital solutions. The position supports the PTTEP subsurface digital knowledge ecosystem by enabling knowledge capture, discovery, sharing, and reuse across the subsurface community, contributing to improved exploration success, stronger Data–Information–Knowledge integration, and sustainable organizational capability.

Key Accountabilities

KM Platform Enablement

- Create, enhance, and maintain KM platform modules such as Knowledge Repository, Online Discussion, Expert Directory, Knowledge Retention, Lesson Learned Database, Knowledge Base, and Best Practice Library.

- Translate KM roadmap requirements into platform enhancements from a user and knowledge-management perspective.

- Support structured knowledge capture, submission, retention, and utilization across the subsurface community.

- Connect the KM Platform with Subsurface Data Hub, SharePoint, Copilot, Power BI, and other enterprise systems to enable seamless knowledge discovery.

- Define and maintain metadata, taxonomy, knowledge classification, and enterprise search requirements for improved findability and reuse.

- Coordinate with Technical Information Management and related teams to ensure technology and platform operations support KM objectives.

- Convert KM policy, confidentiality classification, lifecycle management, quality assurance, and access-control rules into digital workflows and system configurations.

- Ensure KM platform design supports secure, consistent, and well-governed knowledge management practices.

AI & Automation

- Deliver semantic search, AI-based knowledge assistants, chatbots, automated tagging, and knowledge extraction using AI and RAG techniques.

- Prototype knowledge graph, document intelligence, OCR, and recommendation solutions to strengthen digital KM capability.

- Automate knowledge submission, extraction, indexing, and governance workflows where appropriate.

- Design user-centric portals, dashboards, and knowledge access experiences that encourage adoption and ease of use.

- Gather user feedback and improvement requests and translate them into actionable platform enhancements.

- Track industry KM, AI, digital workplace, and enterprise-search trends relevant to subsurface knowledge management.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

Educational Background

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or related technical field.

Professional Experience

- 7 – 10 years of experience in digital platform management, data solutions, knowledge management technology, system integration, or related digital enablement roles.

- Exposure to oil and gas, subsurface technical workflows, or other technical-industry environments is an advantage.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate business or user needs into digital platform requirements is preferable.

Technical Knowledge

- Working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

- Understanding of APIs, Microsoft Graph API, integration patterns, metadata, taxonomy, and enterprise search.

- Basic knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases and data management fundamentals.

- Preferred knowledge of Python for automation and data extraction; Azure AI, Cognitive Search, OpenAI; RAG architecture and vector databases; knowledge graph, OCR, and Document AI.
