SMAEC III has a rewarding position supporting the NASA Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC III) at the Johnson Space Center in Houston helping to continue our exploration of space. Come join our team and help us continue the mission of space exploration. The Safety Verification Engineers will support the development of the Suit Safety Data Package.

Key Responsibilities

These engineers will be responsible for:

- Writing complete Phase II and Phase III Safety Verification Method Plans for all hazard controls.
- Generating full verification-by-analysis, inspection, demonstration, or test plans to serve as formal evidence submissions within the Suit Safety Data Package.
- Developing the actual technical analyses, inspection criteria, and test/demonstration procedures required to close each verification, rather than simply identifying verification methods.

Required Education:

- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Desired Education:

- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline

Education and experience:

- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 15 or more years' experience in engineering
- Basic knowledge and use of personal computers with typical business software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
- Must be able to travel (minimal) and work shifts periodically.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
