USGBC-CA Development Coordinator
The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of USGBC California by driving key operational, donor engagement, and business development functions across corporate sponsorships and individual giving. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role executes sponsorship fulfillment across 10 California regions, coordinates logistics for signature fundraising events (California Green Building Conference and Green Gala), manages individual giving appeals, and supports business development for leading market initiatives. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Fundraising Execution & Support: Coordinate fundraising identification, cultivation, asks, stewardship fulfillment, and benefit tracking across fundraising initiatives, including statewide and regional funding.
- Signature Event Fundraising Logistics: Support event fundraising execution for statewide and regional events (ex. California Green Building Conference, Green Gala, etc.), coordinating sponsor collateral, benefit execution, and post-event funder follow-up.
- Campaign Execution: Coordinate administrative and digital workflows for giving programs, market transformation initiatives, and events utilizing automations and tech stack (monday, mail merge, Donorbox, etc.)
- CRM Management & Funder Stewardship: Coordinate and maintain strong funder data (ex. Copper CRM), process incoming gifts, run targeted appeal queries, and issue timely acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
- Business and Partnership Development: Actively build relationships with both current and potential future partners, with a focus on how to implement initiatives and programs that transform the real estate industry.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act in service to the broader team by pulling collateral, gathering funder metrics, and supporting cross-functional initiatives with a "how can I help?" mindset.

Qualifications/Skills
- Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on fundraising, donor relations, or event sponsorship coordination experience required.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency with nonprofit CRM systems and automations (Copper/Raiser's Edge), project management software, and digital marketing platforms required.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting compelling funder appeals, sponsor correspondence, and impact updates.
- Mission & Values Alignment: Strong dedication to climate action and sustainability, paired with a spirit of open collaboration, warmth, and active listening.
Work Requirements
- Travel: Occasional statewide travel required for major conferences, galas, and community events.
- Physical/Mental Requirements: Safely lift and transport event materials up to 25 lbs; stand or walk for extended intervals during events; maintain focus and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
TIME COMMITMENT & COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, hybrid position. Location: Los Angeles. Annual salary range is $65,000-$75,000.
