About this role
The Sous Chef serves as a key enforcer of culinary standards within the main kitchen operation. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and is essential to maintaining consistency, safety, and efficiency across all service platforms.
You will be responsible for the precise execution of all established systems, procedures, and service models, ensuring flawless replication of quality and protocol. This role demands a rare blend of technical precision, independent judgment, and operational resilience.
- Follow all documented SOPs, recipes, prep lists, and safety protocols to the letter—zero deviation, including accurate portioning, plating, labeling, storage, and adherence to health code standards across every assignment
- Operate independently in dynamic, non-traditional environments where real-time decision-making, self-direction, and problem-solving are required
- Guarantee food quality, timing, presentation, and safety in the kitchen, including management of service setup, execution, breakdown, and reporting
- Direct line staff, prep personnel, and support roles during shifts - providing real-time feedback, coaching, and corrective action to foster a culture of accountability, punctuality, and precision
- Manage inventory usage, prep accuracy, and portion control to minimize waste; apply labor plans efficiently, monitor team productivity, and adjust workflows as needed within defined parameters
- Oversee equipment checks, supply logistics, and site preparation, ensuring kitchen is fully equipped, stocked, and compliant before service begins
- Serve as a liaison between field operations and central leadership—providing timely updates, escalation of issues, and feedback on guest experience, supply needs, or system gaps
- 5+ years of progressive culinary experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role within a high-volume, multi-shift, or multi-location operation
- ServSafe Certified (or able to obtain within 30 days of hire); culinary diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Proven ability to independently manage full-service execution across multiple or non-traditional service environments with minimal oversight
- Strong command of food safety, sanitation standards, recipe execution, portion control, and inventory management
- Experience managing labor schedules, prep planning, and waste reduction in a high-output kitchen setting
- Proficiency with POS systems, timekeeping tools, inventory software, and digital checklists
- Flexible availability required, including nights, weekends, holidays; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in compact, high-heat, or non-traditional kitchen environments

Expected Compensation $66,120 - $99,180/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
