About this role

Do you love talking about cooking and gardening and going for gentle walks? Just 1 hour per week is all that we ask....

We’re looking for a kind and compassionate volunteer to spend time with a lovely person who has a keen interest in cooking and gardening and would love some social interaction with a likeminded volunteer.

Visits would be simple and relaxed — chatting, looking through family albums, playing board games and listening to music. The occasional walk in the sun would also be greatly appreciated.

Most importantly, it’s about providing companionship and sharing some friendly conversation.

Why volunteer?

You’ll brighten someone’s week through friendship and familiarity, while experiencing the meaningful reward that comes from making a genuine difference in someone’s life.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.
