Description:
The role is responsible for leading and supervising pharmaceutical packaging operations to ensure quality, compliance, efficiency, and throughput across packaging lines. The role oversees set-up, calibration, operation, and optimization of packaging equipment, including blister, bottle, sachet, cartoning, labeling, and serialization systems. The incumbent ensures strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP – Good Manufacturing Practices), robust documentation integrity, and defect prevention and control. The role drives automation, digitalization, continuous improvement, and cost optimization, while ensuring sterility assurance (where applicable), audit readiness, and safety compliance. Strong focus is placed on team leadership, equipment reliability, changeovers, and right-first-time execution within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and supervise packaging operations across blister, bottle, sachet, cartoning, labeling, and serialization lines
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Quality Control & Compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee Batch Record Review and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
- Manage Changeover & Setup activities to minimize downtime and maximize line efficiency
- Drive Packaging Process Supervision and Packaging Line Operation & Optimization initiatives
- Ensure effective Visual Inspection and Quality Control, including Manual Visual Inspection (MVI – Manual Visual Inspection) techniques
- Govern Deviation Management, Investigation Analysis, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) implementation
- Oversee Equipment Operation & Maintenance and Packaging Equipment Operation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Ensure Serialization & Track & Trace compliance and Labeling, Barcoding, and Serialization accuracy
- Maintain strong Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS – Environmental, Health & Safety) and hygiene practices
- Ensure Regulatory & Audit Readiness, supporting internal and external audits
- Lead team training, competency development, and performance discipline within packaging operations
- Proper manpower allocation to increase packing output in all the packing lines
Additional Responsibilities:
Education: B. Pharm - Required / M.Pharm - Preferred
Experience: 15+ Years in injectable packaging.
